MSSU softball drops first home game 5-3 to Missouri Western

Missouri Southern's softball team opened up the home portion of their schedule with a loss to Missouri Western on Friday afternoon.

The Lions, who are 6-6 on the season, fell to Missouri Western 9-3.

Missouri Western jumped out to a 5-0 lead before Southern scored three runs.








Lynlee Parrott earned an RBI in the bottom of the first inning as she drew a bases-loaded walk. Josie Tofpi earned two RBI in the bottom of the second inning with a single through the left side.

The Lions had nine hits on the day including three from Emilee Meyer.

Missouri Southern will return to action on Saturday when they host Northern State University.
