Southern's Josh Norville earns second straight MIAA Field Athlete of the Week recognition

For the fourth straight week a Missouri Southern men's track and field athlete has been named the MIAA Men's Field Athlete of the Week as announced by the league office today. For the second straight week Josh Norville has earned the honor.

Junior Josh Norville broke the Southern record in the long jump on Friday as he won the event by jumping 7.65 meters (25' 01.25") to move into second in the NCAA rankings with the Automatic Qualifying mark.

Also announced on Tuesday were the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Rating Index by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).








The Missouri Southern men stayed steady at No. 6. After this past weekend's home meet, the Lions have 12 provisional qualifying marks. In addition to Norville's automatic qualifying mark, Gidieon Kimutai holds the Lion's other automatic qualifying mark as he sits in fourth in the 5,000-meter run with a mark of 14:03.08.

The Lions will now turn their attention to Allendale, Mich. where they are scheduled to participate in the "Grand Valley State University Big Meet Friday" inside the Kelly Family Sports Center on Friday (Feb. 14).
