MSSU track and field picks up three wins at Pittsburg State Invitational

PITTSBURG, KAN.-The Missouri Southern State University Track and Field Teams posted one automatic qualifying park, 14 provisional and three event wins at the Wendy's/Pittsburg State Invitational on Saturday.

On the women's side, two provisional marks were posted in the weight throw as seniors Kirsten Leisinger (17.29 meters) and Alexandra Rodriguez (17.28 meters) finished second and third, respectively.

In the shot put, senior Payton Roberts won the shot put with a provisional mark of 15.38 meters.







In the pole vault, sophomore Lauren Sutherland cleared 3.63 meters to finish in a tie for fourth with the provisional mark in the open portion of the event. In the invite portion, senior Emily Presley, who owns the meet and facility record, finished in second with a provisional mark of 3.94 meters while junior Elena Bisotto posted a provisional mark of 3.73 meters to finish in seventh.

Freshman Cornesia Calhoun-White (8.75) and sophomore Claire Luallen (8.88) finished in second and third with provisional marks. Junior Jasmine Deckard finished in fourth in the 60-meter dash in a provisional qualifying mark of 7.51.

On the men's side, two throwers posted provisional marks as junior Josh Fulmer (19.93 meters) finished fourth and senior Travis Petersen (18.90 meters) finished sixth.

Josh Norville won the long jump with an automatic qualifying mark of 7.60 meters.

On the track, Brieon Randle finished the 400-meter dash in ninth with a provisional qualifying mark of 48.39. Gidieon Kimutai (8:16.07) won the 3,000-meter run with a provisional time while Ryan Riddle's third place finish time of 8:19.83 was also a provisional qualifier.

Complete results are listed below. The Lions will be back in action next Friday and Saturday (Feb. 7 and 8) when they host the MSSU Lion Invite at the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center.
