Missouri Southern big man Cam Martin has been named the MIAA Men's Basketball Co-Athlete of the Week as announced by the league office today. Martin shares the award with Northwest Missouri's Trevor Hudgins.
Martin picks up his sixth Athlete of the Week award this season as he averaged 37 points, 8.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 blocks per game. He shot 57 percent from the field and 96 percent from the free-throw line in two games for MSSU.
Martin scored 29 points and had seven rebounds, going 12-of-17 from the field and 4-of-5 from the free-throw line against Northwest Missouri. In a win against Missouri Western, he scored 45 points and added ten rebounds, going 17-of-17 from the free-throw line.
Martin and the Lions will be back in action this week as Southern travels to Northwest Missouri on Thursday and Missouri Western on Saturday.
