MSSU's Presley earns MIAA Field Athlete of the Week honor

Emily Presley was named the MIAA Women's Field Athlete of the Week as announced by the league office today.

Emily Presley won a stacked pole vault at the MSSU Open and Multis this past weekend that had eight provisional or automatic qualifying marks. She cleared 4.20 meters (13-09.25), and posted an automatic qualifying mark to move into the top spot in the Division II rankings.








Also announced on Tuesday were the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Rating Index by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The Missouri Southern Women moved up from No. 5 last week to No. 4. After this past weekend's home meet, the Lions have 16 provisional marks and two automatic qualifying marks. In addition to Presley's mark, Payton Roberts holds the No. 2 mark in the Shot Put with a throw of 15.77 meters.

The Lions will now turn their attention to Allendale, Mich. where they are scheduled to participate in the "Grand Valley State University Big Meet Friday" inside the Kelly Family Sports Center on Friday (Feb. 14).
