Cam Martin makes first cut for Bevo Francis Award

Missouri Southern junior big man Cam Martin has made the first cut for the Bevo Francis Award, moving on to the top 50 players in small college basketball, the organization announced today.

This is the second year in a row for Martin to be named to the watch list.

The list started with 100 players and was trimmed to 50 players tis week. It will again be trimmed to 25 players on March 15. The finalists will be announced on April 4 and the award will be announced on April 2.








Martin leads the MIAA in free throws and free throw attempts, while ranking second in scoring and rebounds, total points and total rebounds, double-double's and field goal percentage. Martin ranks in the top 30 of seven different offensive and defensive categories, nationwide.

Martin has been the MIAA Player of the Week five times this season He is one of three MIAA players still on the top-50 of the list joining Northwest Missouri's Ryan Hawkins and Trevor Hudgins.

The Lions will be back in action this week as Southern travels to Northwest Missouri on Thursday and Missouri Western on Saturday.
