MSSU baseball drops final game in Edmond First Pitch Classic

Edmond, Okla. -- The Missouri Southern baseball team had a tough day against Southwestern Oklahoma pitching Sunday as the Lions fell 13-0 in seven innings in the final game of the Edmond First Pitch Classic.

Southern (2-1) had a hit each from Dexter Swims, Matt Miller and Troy Gagan. Will Bausinger started and went four and a third, striking out six, walking four and allowing four earned runs.









Southwestern Oklahoma (2-1) scored a run in the first and two in the second, followed by a run each in the fourth and fifth innings. But the Bulldogs broke the game open in the sixth with eight runs.

The Lions will be back in action next weekend as Southern plays host to the University of Mary on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Lions will play a single game on Friday at 2 pm, with a double-header on Saturday at 1 pm. The finale eill be on Sunday at noon.
