The City of Neosho will celebrate a Missouri tradition with the opening of the catch-and-keep trout fishing season at Hickory Creek in Neosho’s Morse Park, Sunday March 1 2020 at 6:30 AM.
The nearly three miles of White Ribbon trout fishing stream uniquely located inside the city limits of Neosho, will witness an official kickoff to the catch and release season.
Neosho Mayor Bill Doubek will mark the occasion with starter gun fire/air horn blast at the Spring Street Bridge location at Morse Park (Helicopter Location).
Anglers of all ages are welcomed. Any Missouri resident age 16-64 must purchase a fishing permit unless they qualify for any of the exemptions listed at http://huntfish.mdc.mo.gov/…/hunting-and-fishing-permit-exe….
A $10 trout permit is also needed if you want to keep any trout. An additional trout permit is not needed for catch-and-release trout fishing.
