Warrensburg, Mo. - The Missouri Southern Women's soccer team battled back to force the No. 8 Central Missouri Jennies to a 2-2 tie inside the South Recreation Complex on Jennies Field Sunday afternoon.
The Lions (6-2-2, 2-0-1 MIAA) got on the board after junior forward Jessica Edwards made a steal and pushed the ball back towards the goal, made a move, and passed it to Sarah Tatum for the open netter with 19 seconds left in the first half.
Then in the 72nd minute, senior midfielder Julia Liberty kicked a shot up that landed over the goalkeeper's head to tie the match at two apiece.
Junior goalkeeper Luz Galindo recorded all 110 minutes for the Lions in between the posts, making four saves on 16 shots faced throughout the match.
Missouri Southern concludes its road trip with a pair of matches in the state of Kansas beginning against Emporia State next Friday, Oct. 5 at 4:00 pm and followed by a match versus Washburn two days later on Sunday, Oct. 7 at 2:00 pm.
