MSSU men's golf 11th after two rounds of Battle of the Belt

Hot Springs, Ark. -- Tristan Haltom and Adam Vining both posted under-par scores as the Missouri Southern men's golf team improved 15 strokes from day one and is tied for 11th after two rounds of the Battle For The Belt, hosted by Henderson State at Hot Springs Country Club.

Haltom shot a three-under par today and paired with his one-under yesterday, Haltom is tied for third individually at four-under par. Haltom is one-stroke from second place and five strokes out of the lead.

Vining shot a one-under par 70 today to finish the day tied for 30th with a 146. Jeremy Dunham shot a 73 to finish with a 151, tied for 68th, while Logan Greer and Taylor Haltom finished tied for 84th and 87th, respectively. Greer is at 155, while Haltom is one stroke behind at 156.



Henderson State had a strong day and moved five strokes in front of day-one leader, Maryville for the overall team lead at ten-under par. Maryville is in second, followed by Southern Arkansas, just seven strokes off the lead.

Southwestern Oklahoma is in fourth, followed by Arkansas Tech, Central Missouri, Northeastern State, Central Oklahoma, Lindenwood, Delta State, Missouri Southern, Southern Nazarene, Oklahoma Baptist, Texas-Tyler, Harding, Lincoln and Northwestern Oklahoma to round out the team scores.

Southern will be first off the tees tomorrow morning with an 8:30 am tee-time. The Lions will be paird with Lindenwood, Delta State and Southern Nazarene.
