MSSU soccer team receives academic award

The Missouri Southern Women's soccer team was one of 484 collegiate programs and one of eight squads in the MIAA to capture the United Soccer Coaches College Team Academic Award for the 2017-18 school year.

The Lion's (6-2-2, 2-0-1 MIAA) combined for a 3.15 GPA towards winning the award for the ninth time in school history (2002, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, & 2015) and first under head coach Chris McNaughton as the women are also off to their best start on the field.



College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster.

Missouri Southern travels to take on Emporia State today at 3:00 pm before facing Washburn on Sunday, Oct. 5 at 2:00 pm in Topeka.
