Topeka, Kan. - The Missouri Southern Women's soccer team had six total shots, but could not capitalize as the Washburn Ichabods secured a 3-0 victory inside Yager Stadium Sunday afternoon.
The Lions' (6-4-2, 2-2-1 MIAA) senior Alex McCord and freshman Bailey Belcher each had two shots to lead the team. Both shots for Belcher were on goal.
Junior goalkeeper Luz Galindo recorded four saves on 11 shots faced in 90 minutes of play.
Washburn (6-5-1, 2-2-1 MIAA) scored in the first seven minutes to take a 1-0 advantage into halftime. The Ichabods tacked on two more in the second period in the win.
Missouri Southern returns home to open a five-match home stand with Northwest Missouri State on Friday, Oct. 12 at 6:00 pm.
