MSSU soccer falls to Fort Hays State 2-0

The Missouri Southern women's soccer team went dead even with Fort Hays State in shots (5-5), but was not enough as the Lions fell to the Tigers 2-0 inside Fred G. Hughes Stadium Friday evening.

The Lions' (7-6-2, 3-4-1 MIAA) were led by freshman forward Bailey Belcher with two shots, one on goal, throughout the night. Senior midfielders Alex McCord and Julia Liberty along with sophomore forward Sarah Tatum added one shot each to round out the team.

FHSU (7-6-2, 5-3-0 MIAA) scored early in the first five minutes and then added a second one that deflected off the goalkeeper at the 16:43 mark.



Junior goalkeeper Luz Galindo played in all 90 minutes between the posts while making two saves on a total of five shots faced.

Women's Soccer looks to rebound on Sunday against Nebraska-Kearney as part of the annual pink game inside Fred G. Hughes Stadium beginning at 1:00 pm.
