MSSU volleyball to play at PSU Friday, Central Oklahoma Saturday

The Missouri Southern volleyball team will open up play this weekend as the Lions travel to Pittsburg State on Friday and 15th-ranked Central Oklahoma on Saturday.

The Lions (0-9) open up MIAA play at Pittsburg State (11-2) Friday at 6 pm and at No. 15 Central Oklahoma (12-2) on Saturday at 3 pm. Both matches will feature live stats and have live video streams on the MIAA Network. Links to both can be found in the story links above.

Southern fans may see some players at different positions this weekend as the Lions expect some position movement.



This past week, Morgan Nash averaged 4.14 digs per set and Kylie Kaaihue averaged 7.57 assists per set. Janelle Brehm is averaging 3.17 kills per set this season and 3.17 digs per set, while Alicia Pickett is averaging 0.86 blocks per set. Brehm ranks 21st nationally in attacks and is tops in the MIAA in attacks per set.

PSU is led by Lauren Reiger with 3.11 kills per set and Lauren Dunn with 4.64 digs per set and 35 service aces.

The Bronchos have won 11-straight matches and 20-consecutive sets. Taylor Bevis is third in the MIAA with 3.98 kills per set.

After these matches, the Lions will be on the road at Southwest Baptist on Tuesday, September 18, before hosting Northwest Missouri and Missouri Western next weekend.

"We are excited to start conference play and continue to challenge ourselves as a team," Head Coach Kalie Madersaid. "I am so thankful to have players who are capable and willing to do whatever the team needs."
