Ada, Okla. - With the match tied at 1-1 and three minutes left in regulation, the Missouri Southern women's soccer team received a much-needed goal by junior forward Tayler LePage at the 87:30 mark for the 2-1 victory against the East Central Tigers inside Tigers Field
Sunday afternoon.

The Lions (2-0-1) fell behind 1-0 early in the first eight minutes of the match, but headed into the half tied 1-1 after sophomore Sarah Tatum retrieved the ball on a blocked pass and kicked it back towards the goal in the 24th minute.

ECU (1-3-0) was limited to only five shots in the first half and 12 for the match as the Lions defensive unit put the goal on lockdown for 82 minutes' straight after allowing an early score to start the match.

Goalkeeper Luz Galindo made five saves on six shots faced in 90 minutes played in between the posts for MSSU.

The Lions return to Joplin for its rescheduled home opener against Harding University on Tuesday at 11:00 am inside Fred G. Hughes Stadium.
