MSSU soccer to face Northeastern State, Southwest Baptist this weekend

(From MSSU Lions Athletic News)

The Missouri Southern women's soccer team travels to Tahlequah to face Northeastern State tomorrow at 7:30 pm before taking on Southwest Baptist on Sunday at 2:00 pm as part of its non-conference schedule against MIAA members.

The Lions improved to 3-0-1 after securing a 2-1 victory over Harding in double-overtime in which freshman Courtney Marten deflected the ball off a shot attempt by Meredith Belrose for the game winner.

It's the programs best start through four games since 2007 when the Lions went 4-0 towards an 11-5-3 overall record. The only other team to kick off a season 3-0-1 was in 2004 which coincidentally included a double-overtime victory in Joplin and led to a 10-win season.
