Southern men's golf in eighth place after first day of MSSU Fall Invitational

Monkey Island, Okla. -- The Missouri Southern men's golf team sits in eighth place after 36 holes of golf at the MSSU Fall Invitational today at Shangri-La Country Club.

Tristan Haltom is leading the way for the Lions as the senior shot a round one 72 and a 74 in round two to finish tied for 25th after day one at 146.

Adam Vining and Logan Greer both shot a 149 and are tied for 30th with Greer competing as an individual. Taylor Haltom (37th) shot a 151, while Jeremy Dunham (43rd) shot a 153.



Grant Sikes, competing as an individual, is tied for 46th with a 154, while Tripper Jensen is tied for 49th at 157.

Jon Lenz (53rd) shot a 158, while Jackson Von Bohren (62nd) shot a 160. AJ Musche is in 65th at a 173.

As a team, the Lions shot a round-one 297 and a round-two 302 and are in eighth place. Southeastern Oklahoma State shot a 563 and lead second-place Oklahoma Christian by five strokes. Hutchinson CC is tied for third with St. Mary's, while Newman is fifth, followed by Southern Nazarene, Southern Arkansas, Missouri Southern, Harding, Sioux Falls and Fort Hays State to round out the team totals.

The Lions will finish off the tournament with round three tomorrow morning. Southern will tee off on hole ten at 9:18 am.
