Monkey Island, Okla. -- Missouri Southern seniors Adam Vining and Tristan Haltom tied for 31st as the Missouri Southern men's golf team finished in ninth place overall at the 2018 MSSU Fall Invitational today at Shangri-La Country Club.
Southern sent ten golfers to the tournament in the beautiful golf course situated on Grand Lake.
Vining and Tristan Haltom both shot three-round totals of 222, while Vining finished with a final-round 73 and Haltom shot a 76 and the pair tied for 31st.
Logan Greer, competing as an individual, shot a nine-over 225 and finished tied for 37th, while Jeremy Dunham and Taylor Haltom both shot a 226 to finish tied for 38th.
Tripper Jenson shot a 231, while Grant Sikes and Jon Lenz finished with scores of 235 and 237, respectively. Jackson Von Behren and AJ Musche shot scores of 241 and 258.
Oklahoma Christian shot 16-under par as a team and won the event by a total of three strokes over St. Mary's (Texas). Southeastern Oklahoma State was third, followed by Southern Arkansas, Newman, Hutchinson CC, Southern Nazarene, Harding, Missouri Southern, Fort Hays State and Sioux Falls.
The Lions will be back in action next week as the Lions travel to Hot Springs (Ark.) Country Club to compete in the Henderson State Regional Preview.
