Southern Athletics announces basketball promotion schedule

The Missouri Southern Athletic Department has announced its promotional schedule for the 2019-2020 basketball season. The schedule features giveaways, ticket discounts, fun theme nights for students, and opportunities for fans of all ages to enjoy basketball season here at Missouri Southern.

Kids 12 and under are always admitted FREE to all home games, and at all conference matchups inflatable games will be available in the Mercy Kids Zone for kids 12 and under for a $1 donation.

The promotional schedule is as listed below:

Tuesday, December 3rd - The conference home opener for the Lions will be against Pittsburg State University for Rival Night! The women will play at 5:30 pm followed by the men at 7:30 pm. We will be giving Lion PopSockets to the first 1,000 fans in attendance! Tonight's game will be sponsored by the Joplin Globe










Saturday, December 7th - On Saturday, December 7th, we welcome Washburn University for our Ugly Sweater Night! The women take on the Ichabods at 1:30 pm followed by the men at 3:30 pm. During half-time of the men's game, we will have our Annual Toy Toss where will be asked to throw stuffed animals onto the court to be donated to kids in the local Joplin area. All fans who bring a stuffed animal that day will receive a concessions voucher for a free popcorn by showing the toy at the entrance.

Saturday, December 21st - Join us as the men's basketball team takes on Arkansas Tech for First Responder Night. All First Responders will be admitted to the basketball game for free and all family members over 12 years of age will only be $5 each.

Tuesday, December 31st - For the men's basketball game against John Brown University on December 31st all general admission tickets purchased at the entrance will be discounted to $5.

Wednesday, January 29th - The Lions will take on Northeastern State University and we will be welcoming our students back to campus for MOSO Mane-iacs Night. The women take on the RiverHawks at 5:30 pm followed by the men at 7:30 pm. The theme for tonight's game will be the Glow Game and we'll be giving away t-shirts and pizza to our students who show ID when they arrive.

Saturday, February 1st - Join us for the annual Diaper Dash presented by Great Southern Bank as the Lions take on the Hillcats of Rogers State University. The women will play at 1:30 pm followed by the men at 3:30 pm. The theme of the night is PJ Night and the first 1,000 fans will receive a pair of Lion logo socks!







Thursday, February 13th - The Lions host the Bearcats of Northwest Missouri State for our Pack the Platt/ White Out Night! The women will play at 5:30 pm followed by the men at 7:30 pm. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive at White Out T-Shirt! Tonight's game will be sponsored by Liberty Utilities.

Saturday, February 15th - Missouri Western will be in town for a doubleheader starting at 1:30 pm for the women and 3:30 pm for the men. The game will be our Pink Game sponsored by Mercy Hospital and we'll be giving out rally towels to the first 1,000 in attendance. Our women's athletic teams will be selling pink t-shirts for $10 with all proceeds going to Hope 4 You, as well as we will be auctioning off Pink Jersey's worn by our three women's basketball seniors during the evening located at the gazebo. Any person currently fighting cancer or is a cancer survivor will be admitted to the game for free by indicating it at the entrance.

Wednesday, February 26th - Join us as we welcome the University of Central Missouri for a doubleheader at 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm. We will be honoring Roary with his birthday party and the first 500 fans in attendance will receive a Roary snow globe! Roary's birthday party will feature area mascots and member's of Roary's Cub Club will be invited to celebrate with birthday cake during the game.

February 12th - For our finale the Lions host Lincoln for a doubleheader for the women at 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm for the men. Our finale will also serve as Military Appreciation Night and our Senior Night. All those retired, former or currently serving individuals will be admitted to the games for free by indicating it at the entrance. All additional family members will be admitted for only $5 each.

For tickets fans may go to www.mssulions.com/tickets. Tickets for doubleheaders are $15 for reserved seats and $10 for general admission. Group discounts are available for groups of 10 people or more and may contact the Ticket Office at 417-625-9820 for more information. All seating inside the Leggett and Platt Athletic Center is chair back seating.
