Missouri Southern junior Cam Martin has been named the MIAA Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week as announced by the league office today.
Martin helped the Lions to a 1-1 record this past week as he averaged 24 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 0.5 blocks, while shooting 50 percent from the field, 44 percent from the three point line and 75 percent from the free throw line.
He had 18 points in 20 minutes against Truman and followed that up with 30 points and 10 rebounds at Upper Iowa.
Martin and the Lions will be back in action this Friday as Southern plays host to Culver-Stockton College. Tip off from Robert Corn Court inside the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center is slated for 7 pm.
