(From MSSU Lions Athletic News)

Missouri Southern men's basketball coach Jeff Boschee has announced the signing of Springdale Har-Ber product Lawson Jenkins to a National Letter of Intent to attend Missouri Southern and participate in basketball beginning in the fall of 2020.

Jenkins is a 6-7 combo guard that prepped at Har-Ber High School where he was a four-year letter winner for the Wildcats and coach Tommy Deffenbaugh. Jenkins has scored 1,743 career points heading into his senior season where he has averaged 24 points and seven rebounds in his career. A three-time All-Conference and two-time All-State selection, Jenkins has also been selected to the All-State Tournament Team twice in his career.

Jenkins' single-game career highs include 40 points, 12 assists and 14 rebounds. He was an ArBCA Top-Five honoree, while earning Northwest Arkansas Democrat Gazette First-Team honors and being named to the KURM Dream Team.

Jenkins is the son of Kimberly and Quincy Jenkins and intends to major in Marketing at Missouri Southern.

"We are extremely excited about the signing of Lawson," Boschee said. "He will give us a ton of versatility on the floor. He has tremendous shooting ability from the perimeter and is able to play like a point guard at 6'7 with his ball handling and passing ability. He comes from a basketball family (mother played at University of Arkansas) and has a great understanding of the game. We feel very fortunate he is a Lion."
