Searcy, Ark. - Junior center Zoe Campbell recorded a school single-game record of seven blocks to go along with six points, four rebounds, and two steals as the Lions fell to Harding University 75-67 to conclude the GAC/MIAA Challenge inside the Rhodes-Reaves Field House Saturday night.

Campbell broke the record 31 years after Joyce Falls blocked six shots versus Fort Hays State back in 1988. Seniors Chasidee Owens (21) and Destiny Cozart (19) added a combine 40 points between each other while sophomore Amber Buch scored nine points and registered a career-high seven assists.

The Lions (0-2) took an early four-point advantage right out of the gate in the first period as they traded basket-for-basket with the Bison toward a 12-12 tie at the 1:52 mark. Harding (2-0) broke the tie with a three-pointer to conclude the first period up 15-12 and would not relinquish its lead for the next 30 minutes of action.

Southern pulled within two (25-23) after a made three-pointer by Cozart at the 2:08 mark of the second period, but the Bison responded on a 6-1 run to take a 31-24 lead into the locker room and extend it to as much as 14 points (40-26) three minutes into the third period towards the victory.

The Lions return to Joplin for their home opener against Graceland University (Iowa) on Wednesday at 5:30 pm.
