Sophomore forward Bailey Belcher along with four teammates were five of 154 total women's soccer student-athletes to earn Academic Honors in a release of the Mid-American Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Academic awards.
On top of landing on the Academic Honor roll, Belcher was one of 15 student-athletes to be named an Academic Excellence honoree which goes to student-athletes that achieve a 4.0 grade point average and had attended their current institution for at least two terms.
The biology major also qualified for the Scholar-athlete award after making the All-MIAA team as an honorable mention recipient and earning a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Senior goalkeeper Luz Galindo (3.81), junior midfielders Meredith Belrose (3.48) and Carina Calderon (3.92), and sophomore midfielder Lily Spikereit (3.65) joined Belcher on the Academic honor roll as well. Galindo and Calderon are both Health Promotion and Wellness majors while Belrose and Spikereit major in Education.
The MIAA will come out with a separate release for freshmen and newcomers in the spring.
