The Missouri Southern women's soccer team had four players named to the All-Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) squad in a release Thursday morning.
Senior forward Jessica Edwards and defender Brianna Smith, sophomore forward Bailey Belcher, and freshman Ashton Manwill all represented the Lions on the Honorable Mention list among the top players from the other eleven conference competitors.
The two seniors combined for 16 points in 2,400 minutes of playing time to conclude their final season in the green and gold. Edwards led the Lions with nine points and four goals, including a game winner in a 2-1 victory over Washburn at home.
Smith closed out the season as the team-leader in assists with three while taking second in points (7) and third goals (2) along with being one of two players to start in all 18 matches.
Belcher, who earned All-MIAA honors last season as a freshman, recorded 50 shots and 27 of them on goal towards leading the team in both of those categories after starting in every match but one on top of tying Smith and Manwill for second in points and Manwill in goals (3).
In her first season at Missouri Southern, Manwill started in 17 and played in all 18 matches as she finished in the top five on the team in three categories after recording seven points (2nd) and three goals (2nd) in 1,348 minutes played (4th).
