MSSU women's basketball announces four recruits

Head Missouri Southern women's basketball coach Ronnie Ressel has announced the addition of four high school athletes to the 2020-2021 roster Tuesday afternoon.

"We are extremely excited about our signing class. Each kid is filling a need for next year. They are all coming from quality programs and have had a lot of success on and off the floor," coach Ressel explained about the class.

Below is a look at all the incoming-freshman and their success throughout high school.

Hailey Grant

Grant was a four-year letter winner for the Claremore High School Zebras. There, the Salina, Oklahoma native earned three-straight first-team All-Metro Lakes Conference honors to conclude her freshman, sophomore, and junior seasons.








The 6'1 guard also played two years as part of the Volleyball team, where she landed on the All-Conference Honorable Mention list and assisted the Zebras toward two Regional titles and two appearances in the State tournament including a berth into the semifinals.

She is the daughter of Lynette Grant and plans on majoring in Biology at Southern.

Anna Hall

Hall was a four-year letter winner for the Civic Memorial High School Eagles. The Bethalto, Illinois native through three years has helped lead the Eagles to three Mississippi Valley Conference (MVC) titles, two Class 3A regional championships, and a sectional title through 88 games played with over 1,000 points, 600 rebounds, 200 steals, and 100 assists posted

She closed out her closed out her junior season averaging 17.0 17.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 3.0 steals per game, including a 36-point (career high) outburst followed by a 33-point performance in the Class 3A Regional finals while registering 21 double-doubles. Her efforts gained her notoriety on the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) All-State first team as well as honorable mention by the Associated Press.

The 5'10 forward collected back-to-back first-team All-Conference accolades as a sophomore and junior along with three Player of the Year awards by the Belleville News-Democrat, Alton Telegraph, and Advantage News media outlets. Hall also spent three seasons as a midfielder for the women's soccer team during the offseason.

She is the daughter of Jason and Laura and plans on majoring in biology during her time at Southern.

Kaitlin Hunnicutt

Hunnicutt was a three-year letter winner for the Two Rivers High School Gators while competing three other sports as well. The Danville, Arkansas native averaged 23.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 3.0 steals per game throughout her junior season following a sophomore season of averaging 20 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals, and 2.0 assists per contest. She went on to land on two All-State and All-Conference teams toward being named the 2019 Centennial Bank Brightest States Girls Basketball Player of the Year.








The 5'10 small forward helped lead the Gators to a Yell County tournament and Regional championship (sophomore), two District championships (sophomore and junior), and a conference championship (junior) while being runners up when they did not take home a championship. In the offseason, Hunnicutt was a four-year letter winner in both track and field and golf, and a three-year letter winner as part of the cheer squad.

As a sprinter and jumper, she earned All-Conference accolades from her freshman to her junior season on top of an All-State honor as a junior to go along with All-Conference honors in golf two years in a row (freshman and sophomore) and an All-State performer in cheer as a junior.

She is the daughter of Pamela Brown and plans on majoring in mass communications at Southern.

Biance Nicole Stocks

Stocks was a three-year letter winner for the Camdenton High School Lakers. The Osage Beach, Missouri enters her senior season with 956 points, 386 rebounds, 276 assists, and 186 steals through three season at the guard position.

Her efforts earned her three years on the All-Conference first team as well as three All-district selections by the coaches and media in assisting the Lakers to two District titles (freshman & junior) and one conference title (sophomore) along with a berth into the state quarterfinals to end her junior season. The KRES Radio and Columbia Tribune All-Star also competed on the diamond for one year with the softball team.

She is the daughter of Shane and Lolita and plans on majoring in education while at Southern.
