MSSU women's cross country wins division at St. Louis meet

St. Louis, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern women's cross country team placed all five runners in the top eight of the Division II scores and for the second week in a row, defeated a ranked team as the Lions competed at the Forest Park XC Festival today.

Southern had all five of its runners in the top 14 of the Division II totals and defeated a ranked Southwest Baptist team for the second week in a row.

Freshman Ashlee Kuykendall placed seventh overall, but first amongst Division II runners with a time of 19:15.13 over the 5k course.

Sierra Wells was 16th overall and fourth in the Division II standings with a time of 19:39.98. Danielle Prince and Sarah Usher placed 21st and 22nd, respectively, while Christian Provence was 27th.

Mady Gepford was 32nd, while Gabriel Hill finished 35th. Julianna Determan and Layne Karhoff placed 38th and 39th, while Shelby Werner placed 45th.

Southern will be back in action next Saturday as they play host to the Southern Stampede at the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course.
