Bolivar, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern women's cross country team placed all five scoring times in the top 15 and the Lions took home the team title Saturday at the Bearcat Classic, hosted by Southwest Baptist University.
Southern had two in the top ten as the 4k race was ran at Bolivar CC.
Ashlee Kuykendall was fourth in a time of 18:30.29, while Sierra Wells was ninth in a time of 18:52.28. Christian Rovence was 13th in a time of 19:04.23, while Sarah Usher and Danielle Prince placed 14th and 15th with times of 19:09.13 and 19:09.62, respectively.
Shelby Werener placed 17th, while Gabriel Hill and Maddie Gepford placed 28th and 31st, respectivley. Julianna Determan was 37th, while Layne Karhoff was 41st.
The Lions scored 52 points as a team, edging out 18th ranked Southwest Baptist by six points. The Bearcats were second with 58 points, followed by Central Missouri, Missouri S&T, Washburn, Drury, Columbia College, Lincoln and Cottey College to round out the team standings.
The Lions will be back in action next week running at the Forest Park Cross Country Festival hosted by Saint Louis University.
