Lake City, Minn. -- The Missouri Southern Golf Team finished in a tie for eighth and Tristan Haltom was tied for 14th as the Lions competed in the JR Watkins Invite hosted by Winona State University at The Jewell GC in Lake City, Minn.
Haltom shot a second-round 73 to finish with a two-day total of 147 and was tied for 14th. Tripper Jensen shot a second-day 80 to finish with a 153 and tied for 42nd, while connor Neil and Taylor Haltom both tied for 49th with Neil shooting a day-two 81 and Haltom carding a 77. Both shot a two-day total of 154. Jake Beckerimproved by two strokes and shot a 79 in day two to finish tied for 8th with a 160.
Central Missouri, Arkansas-Fort Smith and Minnesota State finished tied for the team lead at ten-over 586. Missouri Western was fourth, followed by Washburn, Minot State, Winona State, Southern, Oklahoma Baptist and Bemidji State to round out the top ten.
St. Cloud and Manitoba finished 11th, while Bently, Sioux Falls, Winona State (B) Augustana, Upper Iowa, Concordia-St. Paul and Lincoln finish out the team totals.
The Lions will be back in action on October 16 and 17 as Southern competes in the Washburn Invitational at Topeka CC.
