St. Louis, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern men's cross country team had the top five Division II times, and all five were in the top 16 as the Lions won the Division II portion of the Forest Park Cross Country Festival, hosted by Saint Louis University.
The Lions had 15 points as a team, and all seven runners placed in the top 12 of the Division II times.
Nickson Kiptoo was the top Division II runner and placed third overall with a time of 24:53.36 over the 7.5k course. Jared Haltom and Cody Berry placed fifth and sixth, with times of 24:59.68 and 25:00.07, respectively.
Josh Webb and Tod Capron placed ninth and tenth overall, while Nathan Painter was 16th. Jared Ozee and Trevor Shank placed 28th and 29th, respectively.
Southern led second-place Southwest Baptist by nearly 40 points as the Bearcats finished second. Lindenwood - Belleville wsa third, followed by Quincy and Kaskaskia College.
Southern will be back in action next Saturday as they play host to the Southern Stampede at the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course.
