Nine MSSU athletes earn MIAA Academic Honors

Kansas City, Mo. -- Eight Missouri Southern women's basketball players and one men's basketball player earned MIAA Academic Honors as the league office announced its academic awards for basketball.

To be named to the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 and at least two terms of attendance at the school, excluding summer terms. To earn MIAA Scholar-Athlete status, a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative 3.50 GPA and earn All-MIAA honors in their particular sport.

For the women, Amelia Bramer (3.489 - Biology), Desirea Buerge (3.525 - Biology), Dru Clark (3.462 - Education), Chelsey Henry (3.743 - Marketing Management), Kayla Kivinski (3.775 - Psychology), Jenson Maydew (3.781 - Art), Bri Shavers-Mcneace (3.128) Psychology and Soley Webb (3.877 - Education) all were named to the Academic Honor Roll.

Buerge was named a Scholar-Athlete after earning honorable-mention All-MIAA status.

On the men's side, Isaac Kreuer (3.133 - Marketing Management) was named to the Academic Honor Roll.

Newcomers will be given their honors at the end of the 2016-17 academic school year.
