Crowder softball topping NJCAA in multiple categories

Neosho, MO – The Crowder College Roughrider Softball team is topping the NJCAA stats in multiple categories.

The team is currently 48-6 on the season and ranked #19 in NJCAA Division I polls as of 4-18-2017.

Currently, Crowder holds the number one spot in Runs (553), Hits (662), Triples (35), Runs Batted In (482), Extra Base Hits (232), and Total Bases (1015). They are also in the top 5 teams in Doubles (154), Hit by Pitch (52), Stolen Bases (161), Batting Average (.421), On Base Percentage (.486), and Slugging Percentage (.646).

Several individual players are ranked in the top 10 in their respective categories as follows:

Paige Mendoza (Ft. Smith, AR)

· 2nd in batting average - .553

· 3rd in doubles – 26

· 6th in hits – 88

· 7th in runs – 68

· 6th in on base % - .610

Oakley Sisemore (Farmington, AR)

· 1st in hits – 100

· 2nd in triples – 9

· 2nd in runs – 82

· 2nd in steals – 56

· 8th in batting average - .522

Bailey Bunch (Mena, AR)

· 1st in triples - 10

Kristen Dempsey (Benton, AR)

· 1st in saves - 9

The Roughriders have one Region 16 doubleheader left to play before the Region tournament, April 28-30, in Columbia, MO. The winner of the Region 16 tournament advances to District play which will be held at the winner of the Iowa Region.

The Roughrider Softball team is coached by John Sisemore. This is Sisemore’s fourth season as head coach. He is assisted by Samantha Juarez.
