MSSU Softball pushes back weekend games

Due to forecasted weather in the Joplin area Missouri Southern head softball coach Melissa Chmielewski announced today that the final home weekend has been pushed back to Sunday and Monday.

With five inches of rain forecasted for the Joplin area the games against 22nd ranked Central Oklahoma will be played on Sunday at 3 and 5 p.m. and will be senior day as the Lions honor seniors Sarah Morrison and Sydney Koch and junior Myranda Stewart prior to the game.

Northeastern State will visit the Pat Lipira Softball Complex on Monday with game times scheduled for 2 and 4 p.m.

The Lions are currently in fourth place in the MIAA standings with a 14-8 record after being picked 10th in the MIAA Pre-Season Coaches' Poll. The MIAA Post-Season Tournament will be held again this season at the ASA Hall of Fame Stadium Softball Complex in Oklahoma City. The top eight teams make the double elimination tournament to determine the MIAA automatic qualifier into the NCAA D-II tournament.
