MSSU women's golf in fifth place after day one of Natural State Golf Classic

Heber Springs, Ark. -- The Missouri Southern women's golf team is in fifth place after day one of the 2019 Natural State Golf Classic, hosted by Harding University at Red Apple Inn and County Club.

Kylie Carnes leads the Lions with an 89 over the first 18 holes as she finished the day tied for 17th individually. Maggie Moore is in 20th after shooting a 93 in day one, while Taylor Boyett and Elizabeth Poe are in 26th and 27th, respectively, after shooting a 100 and 107.









Southern Nazarene leads the team scores after shooting a first-round 325. Arkansas-Monticello is in second, three strokes off the lead, while Harding, Southern Arkansas and the Lions round out the team scores.

The Lions will have one more round of 18 holes beginning tomorrow morning.
