MSSU women in 12th place after first day of Oklahoma tournament

Owasso, Okla. -- The Missouri Southern women's golf team is in 12th after day one of the 2019 Hillcat Classic hosted by Rogers State at Bailey's Ranch Golf Club in Owasso.

The Lions shot a 411 as a team today, led by Kylie Carnes who shot a first-round 84 and is tied for 25th individually.

Elizabeth Poe shot a 99, while Maggie Moore finished at 102. Taylor Boyett had a first-round 126. 








Newman leads the field after day one with a team score of 308. Oklahoma Christian is second, just one stroke out at 309, while Rogers State is third, two strokes off the lead. Texas A&M Commerce is fourth, followed by Arkansas-Fort Smith, Angelo State, Lubbock Christian, Christian Brothers, Texas A&M International, Fort Lewis, Texas-Permian Basin and the Lions to round out the team scores.

The team will finish out the tournament tomorrow with a final-round of 18 holes.
