MSSU men's golf in tie for eighth after day one of Hillcat Classic

Owasso, Okla. -- The Missouri Southern men's golf team is in a tie for 8th place after day one of the 2019 Hillcat Classic hosted by Rogers State at Bailey's Ranch Golf Club.

The Lions shot a round one 302 and followed it up with a 303 in the second 18 holes to finish tied for eighth place after the first day.

Taylor Haltom shot an even par 71 in round one and a 75 in round two to finish with a 146 and tied for seventh place individually. Logan Greer shot shot a 148 and is tied for 14th, while Jeremy Dunham is tied for 39th with a 155. Adam Vining and Grant Sikes both shot a 158 and are tied for 45th.








Arkansas-Fort Smith is in first place after day one with a two-round total of 585. Lubbock Christian is in second just one stroke off the lead, while Texas A&M International is in third, two strokes off the lead. Texas A&M Commerce is in third, followed by St. Edward's, Rogers State, Texas-Permian Basin, the Lions, Christian Brothers, Fort Lewis and Fort Hays State to round out the team scores.

The Lions will finish out the tournament tomorrow with a final round of 18 holes.
