Tahlequah, Okla. -- The Missouri Southern women's golf team is in a tie for 7th place after day one of the 2019 Northeastern State Fall Classic, held at Cherokee Springs Golf Course in Tahlequah.
The Lions shot 322 as a team, 18 shots off the leaders. Henderson State (304) has the team lead after day one, while Rogers State is three strokes back. Oklahoma Christian is third, followed by Harding, Northeastern State, Oklahoma Baptist, the Lions, Southern Nazarene, Southwestern Oklahoma, Fort Hays State, Southern Arkansas, Northwest Missouri, Newman and Southwest Baptist to round out the team scores.
Kylie Carnes is tied for second overall with a first-round score of 73 to lead the charge for the Lions. Maggie Moore shot an 81 and is tied for 33rd, while Hannah Torres and Kenzie Kirkhart both shot an 84. Tabitha Morrow shot a 97.
The Lions will tee off at 8 am tomorrow morning to finish up the tournament.
