MSSU men's golf to open fall season this week in Muskogee

The Missouri Southern men's golf team will be in action this week as the Lions travel to Muskogee, Okla. to take part in the Northeastern State Fall Classic hosted on Muskogee Country Club.

This is the first tournament of the fall season for the Lions that will see Southern play in five events, one of them hosted by the Lions and two will serve as MIAA points events.

The event at NSU will feature 18 teams from the MIAA, NSIC and GAC, as well as a junior college team. Teams from the MIAA will be the Lions, NSU, Missouri Western, Washburn, Rogers State, Central Missouri and Newman. Minnesota State will represent the NSIC, while Harding, Southern Arkansas, Henderson State, Southwestern Oklahoma, Southeastern Oklahoma, Oklahoma Baptist, Southern Nazarene and Arkansas-Monticello will represent the GAC.








The Lions feature six returners from last year's team and eight newcomers. Traveling with Southern this week will be freshmen Colby Cox, Jonathan Sanchez and Fletcher McSpadden, as well as juniors Taylor Haltom and Logan Greer.

The Lions will team off at 8:30 am tomorrow morning, as Southern is paired with Southern Nazarene and Missouri Western. Cox will be paired with Lukas Bigger of Minnesota State.
