Muskogee, Okla. -- The Missouri Southern men's golf team is in 12th place after day one of the 21st Annual NSU Golf Classic held today at Muskogee Golf Club.
Colby Cox and Fletcher McSpadden are tied for 26th as they both shot even par throughout the first 36 holes today. Cox shot a three under on the first 18 and a three over on the second. McSpadden was two over on the first 18 and two under in the second round.
Jonathan Sanchez is tied for 58th at 148 after shooting an even par in the second round, while Logan Greer is tied for 70th at 149 as he was at one-under on the second 18. Taylor Haltom is tied for 84th at 153.
The Lions shot a 293 in round one and 286 in round two to finish the day at 579. Arkansas Tech shot a blistering 11-under par as a team over the first two rounds and lead Central Missouri by two strokes. Washburn is third, followed by Northeastern State Southwestern Oklahoma and Southern Arkansas at sixth. All six teams shot below par.
Southern Nazarene is seventh, followed by Harding, Minnesota State, Henderson State, Rogers State, Southern, Missouri Western, Oklahoma Baptist, Southeastern Oklahoma, Arkanasas-Monticello, Newman and Seminole State to round out the team scores.
The Lions will play a final 18 holes tomorrow, teeing off at 9:48 am with Haltom, while Greer, Sanchez, McSpadden and Cox will follow, finishing at 10:24.
