Axtell, Neb. -- The Missouri Southern women's golf team finished in 11th place today as the Lions competed in the first MIAA points event of the year, playing in the MIAA Fall Preview hosted by Nebraska-Kearney at Awari Dunes.
The Lions shot a 317 in round one and a 327 in round two to finish with a team score of 664. Maggie Moore shot a second-round 78 and combined with her 76 in round one, finished with a score of 154 and tied for 23rd.
Kylie Carnes finished tied for 35th with a 159, while Hannah Torres shot a 163 to finish tied for 44th. Kenzie Kirkhart was 53rd with a 170, while McKayla Hussey, who did not play yesterday, shot a second-round 86.
Central Missouri won the team title with a 587, while Rogers State and Sioux Falls tied for second, ten strokes back of the Jennies. Central Oklahoma was third, followed by Nebraska-Kearney, Northeastern State, Missouri Western, Fort Hays State, Northwest Missouri, Newman, Southern and Lincoln to round out the team scores.
The Lions will be back in action next week as the Lions travel to Sioux Falls, SD to compete in the Augustana Fall Invitational.
