Kansas City, Mo. -- For the third time in her career, Alicia Pickett has been named an All-MIAA selection as the league announced its honors today.
Pickett, who has earned honorable mention All-MIAA honors in each of her freshman and sophomore campaigns, picked up honorable mention honors again this season as a junior.
The Shawnee, Kan. native this season averaged 1.34 kills per set, while posting totals of 70 blocks, leading the Lions in that category. She finished the season with 0.75 blocks per set. Pickett started in all 28 matches she played in this season with her best match of the season coming where she helped lead a come-from-behind victory for the Lions over Missouri Western. In that match, she finished with 20 kills, while hitting .457 and adding four blocks.
Maddy Bruder of Northwest Missouri was the league's Player of the Year, while Central Missouri's Hannah Engelken was the Freshman of the Year. Northwest Missouri's Amy Woerth was the MIAA Coach of the Year. The complete breakdown of the All-MIAA team is listed below.
