MSSU football drops season finale 41-0 to Pitt State

The Missouri Southern football team said goodbyes to nine seniors today as the Lions fell 41-0 at home to Pittsburg State in the 2018 Miners Bowl.

Dalton James rushed for 53 yards on 17 carries, while catching two passes for 11 yards. Sean Kelly was 4-of-13 for 24 yards and rushed ten times for 43 yards. Jeremy Davis and Satayven James had a catch each.

Riley Hathorn had six punts for an average of 36 yards. The Lions (1-10, 1-10 MIAA) had 134 yards on the ground in the game.



Defensively, Alan Glanville had his fourth 10-plus tackle game of the year with 12 stops including a forced fumble, a tackle for a loss and a quarterback hurry. Diontez Champion and Trevor Plafcan had nine tackles each, while John Ejizu and Richard Jordan Jr. had eight tackles each. Keith Beverly had a fumble recovery.

Pitt (8-3, 8-3 MIAA) got a 7-of-8 performance from John Roderique as he threw for 182 yards and a touchdown. Tucker Horak had 11 carries for 81 yards, while Keynan Scheurich had 11 carries for 80 yards.

The Lions honored nine seniors today in Erick Dedrick Jr., Brian Henderson, Champion, Desmond Payton, LaRonzo Davis, Kawan Henry, Plafcan, Toby Lettman and Aaron Leo as part of Senior Day.
