MSSU women's basketball falls to Southwest Oklahoma State

Shawnee, Okla. - The Missouri Southern women's basketball team dropped its second game of the GAC/MIAA Challenge to the No. 20 Southwest Oklahoma State Bulldogs, 82-50, inside the Noble Complex Saturday afternoon.

The Lions' (0-2) were led by junior guard Chasidee Owens who shot 6-for-7 from the field for 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds.

Forward Jordan Schoenberger added eight points while sophomore forward Zoe Campbell grabbed a team-high nine rebounds along with pouring in five points in the loss.



SWOSU (1-1) had three players register in double figures with Hayden Piddy (19), Taylor Hedrick (15), and Tyra Aska (12) leading the way for the Bulldogs.

Missouri Southern returns to the Leggett and Platt Athletic Center for the home opener against Oklahoma Panhandle State on Tuesday at 5:30 pm.
