Parkville, Mo. -- The Missouri Southern women's golf team is in third place after round one of the 2019 Virginia McCoy Fall Invite hosted by Park University at the Deuce at the National Golf Club of Kansas City.
The Lions shot a 362 as a team on day one and sit eight strokes behind the leaders, Truman (354) after the first 18 holes. Park is second, followed by the Lions, Graceland, Metropolitan CC, Ottawa, Park's B squad and Hastings to round out the team scores.
Hannah Torres is tied for fourth after day one, shooting an 86 to lead the way for the Lions. McKayla Hussey is tied for 8th after an 89, while Maggie Moore is tied for 14th with a 90. Kylie Carnes is tied for 21st with a 97, while Kirsten Matlock is tied for 24th with a 98.
The Lions will shoot a final 18 holes tomorrow morning to conclude the tournament.
