MSSU soccer falls to Rogers State

Claremore, Okla. - The Missouri Southern women's soccer team forced Rogers State to a scoreless tie to end the first period, but the Hillcats came out in the second period with two goals for the win inside Soldier Field Friday night.

Sophomore Bailey Belcher led the Lions (2-7-0, 1-1-0 MIAA) with five shots on goal and six total for the match. Junior Meredith Belrose had two attempts while four Lions each had one a piece for 12 shots total.








Freshman goalkeeper Riley Laver registered all 90 minutes of action in-between the posts, making seven saves on 28 total shots faced.

Rogers State (4-4-1, 1-1-0 MIAA) recorded its first conference win after joining the MIAA earlier this year. The Hillcats scored the first goal in the 61st minute of the second period before adding another one eight minutes later on a shot outside the box.

Missouri Southern continues its Oklahoma trip at 1:00 pm on Sunday against
Northeastern State.
