Romeoville, Ill. - The No. 17 ranked Missouri Southern women's cross country team came away with an 18th-place finish today at the Lewis University Crossover held on the campus of Lewis.
Southern finished in 18th place amongst a field of 38 teams that had eight ranked schools competing.
Kelie Henderson paced the team with a 44th place finish traversing the 6k course in a time of 23:38.5. Julianna Determan was 56th in a time of 23:46.6, while Raye Moran crossed the line in a time of 24:34.8 to finish 121st.
Maegen Derfelt finished in a time of 24:47.0 to finish 148th, while Mady Gepford was close behind at 153rd in a time of 24:48.3. Danielle Prince finished 180th in a time of 25:04.7 and Alice Evans finished 185th in a time of 25:06.1.
Grand Valley State took home the team title with 32 points, while Augustana was second in 119 points. Walsh finished third, followed by Saginaw Valley State, Michigan Tech, Southern Indiana, Wayne State, Simon Fraser, Colorado Christian and Cal State San Marcos to round out the top ten scores.
The Lions will be back in action on October 26 as Southern plays host to the 2019 MIAA Cross Country Championships at the Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course.
