MSSU men's golf sweeps Northwestern Oklahoma State, takes third at Battle of the Belt

Hot Springs, Ark. -- The Missouri Southern men's golf team swept Northwestern Oklahoma State 5-0 in its final match to finish tied for third at the Battle of the Belt, hosted by Henderson State University at Hot Springs Country Club.

The Lions got wins in each group against NWOSU to finish tied with Winona State for third-place.

Individually, Jonathan Sanchez finished 14th with a three-round total of 229. Jon Lenz was tied for 15th at 230, while Grant Sikes was 25th at 236. Taylor Haltom was 30th at 241, while Colby Cox shot an 85 in the final day, but did not post a score in round one.








Henderson State swept through match play to finish first, followed by St. Edward's. Northwestern Oklahoma and Union did not post a win in the event.

This was the final fall event for the Lions as the team will be back in action in March with the spring portion of its schedule.
