Mayetta, Kan. -- The Missouri Southern women's golf team is in 9th place after day one of the 2019 MIAA Women's Golf Championships held at Firekeeper Golf Course.
Kylie Carnes leads the way for the Lions after day one and is tied for 32nd after shooting a first-round 84. Elizabeth Poe is in 43rd after a 93, while Maggie Moore is in 44th with a 96. Taylor Boyett is 48th after a 107.
Northeastern State is in first after a round-one 300 as a team. Central Missouri is in second, four strokes back, while Missouri Western, Northwest Missouri, Central Oklahoma, Nebraska-Kearney, Lindenwood, Fort Hays State, the Lions and Southwest Baptist to round out the team scores.
The teams will play 18 holes tomorrow as part of round two of the Championships.
