The Missouri Southern men's golf team will be in action today and Tuesday as the Lions compete in the Southwest Baptist Invitational at Silo Ridge Country Club in Bolivar.
The event will be the first of two MIAA points events this Spring with the other being next week's MIAA Championship hosted by the Lions at Shangri-La Country Club. The teams will play 36 holes on Monday and a final 18 holes on Tuesday.
Along with each of the MIAA men's golf teams that are in attendance, the tournament will feature four ranked teams in No. 39 Central Missouri, No. 40 Lindenwood, No. 41 Central Oklahoma and No. 42 Washburn. Fort Hays State, the Lions, Missouri Western, Lincoln, Bemidji State, William Woods, UT-Tyler, Concordia-St. Paul, Minnesota State, Northeastern State and Southwest Baptist will all field teams.
The Lions will bring Tristan Haltom, Taylor Haltom, Tripper Jensen, Jeremy Dunham and Logan Greer as their scoring five for the event.
Lindenwood comes into the event in first-place in the MIAA standings with 20 points. Central Missouri is second with 18. Northeastern State is third, followed by Washburn, Central Oklahoma, Missouri Western, Missouri Southern, Lincoln, Southwest Baptist and Fort Hays.
