Mountain Home, Ark. -- The Missouri Southern women's golf team finished 12th and Kylie Carnes was tied for 13th as the Lions competed in the 2019 Henderson State Spring Invite hosted at Big Creek Country Club.
Carnes shot a final-round 79 to finish with a three-round total of 228 and tied for 13th in the tournament. Maggie Moore was 56th at 253, while Elizabeth Poe shot a 293 and was 63rd. Taylor Boyett was 64th at 316.
Henderson State won the team title, finishing eight strokes in front of Texas A&M Commerce. Missouri Western was third, followed by Central Oklahoma, Northeastern State, Southern Nazarene, Oklahoma Baptist, Lindenwood, Drury, Southern Arkansas, Northwestern Oklahoma and the Lions.
Southern will be back in action next week as the Lions travel to Fort Smith, Ark. to take part in the Hardscrabble Invitational hosted by UA-Fort Smith at Hardscrabble Country Club.
