Missouri Southern junior outfielder Ryan Hunter has been named the MIAA Baseball Player of the Week as announced by the league office today.
Hunter, a native of Maumelle, Ark., helped the Lions to a 2-1 weekend at Emporia State last week. Hunter hit .571 with three runs scored, two home runs, five RBIs, ten total bases and slugged 1.429 with a .500 on-base percentage.
Hunter also added both a sacrifice bunt and sacrifice fly in the process and he concluded his weekend with a two-home run and four RBI performance.
The Lions will be back at home this weekend as Southern plays host to No. 21 Central Missouri in a crucial MIAA matchup at Warren Turner Field.
